St. John's/St. Ann's Outreach Center

St. John's/St. Ann's Outreach Center in Albany’s South End has a new website, here, from which we quote:
The mission of St. John's/St. Ann's Outreach Center is to respond with compassion and care to all our neighbors in need regardless of race, creed, sex, national orgin, age, disease, handicap or lifestyle. To implement our mission we provide food, furniture, outreach referrals, holiday and special programs through the generous efforts of our supporters and dedicated volunteers.
Use of the Welcome Table continues to grow. Last year, they served more than 21,000 meals.
We can always use volunteers. The opportunities for good works are unlimited. Please review the variety of programs described on these pages and see where you fit. Or if you have any other skill you are willing to share, discuss it with us and the chances are we can use it. Call 472-9091 ext. 14.

The Beatitudes in Cairo

Over at The Deacon’s Bench, Deacon Greg Kandra writes:
Deacon Eric Stoltz, who has created one of the most readable and compelling parish websites anywhere at Church of the Good Shepherd in Beverly Hills, is using that site as powerful teaching tool this week.

He’s paired news images from Cairo with the Beatitudes that we heard in mass last Sunday.

We believe this is a blog worth reading. You can do so, here.
